The Bird House

Nestled into a gap in a typical Victorian railway terrace, the Bird House is a walk-in aviary resonating with the stories, specific and historic, of human interaction with birds. The building-scale installation is a cheerful and curious intervention celebrating the fertility of overgrown spaces. Its built form is part-dissection, part-homage to the ubiquity of the terraced house, but as a living installation, it also suggests new ways of integrating nature with our cities extant.
